I don't really know the last time I actually logged into LJ. Little update - I've finished my first year teaching and I will go back for teacher workdays on Monday. All but 5 of my students passed the end of grade tests and only 1 was a shock. I had been telling their parents all year that if they didn't get their butt in gear the child would be repeating 5th grade. I'm not sure exactly how the kids did during summer school, but I'll know soon enough. I'm extremely nervous to start my second year. My first one was so hard, I just keep thinking about all the things that went wrong, some I'm sure I can fix and change, but others I feel like may be there forever. I don't know. I'm going to try to make this year WAY better than last year. I hope I don't have a bad reputation as a teacher. I had a few parents who hated my guts and I'd hate to hear parents groan outside my door because their child got me, or even worse, complain and have their kid moved to another teacher's class. Oh well, can't change it now.

My honey is FINALLY here. He got in a couple of weeks ago and it has been pre-marital bliss since then. We will be married on September 30, 2006. I'm SO excited, but I just can't help but feel overwhelmed by the number of things you have to do to make a wedding happen. I'm thrilled and I couldn't be more excited. I'll post pictures when it's all said and done.
  • OMG Congratulations!

I understand if you don't want to, but I'm just so happy to hear that it's finally happening :)
    • too late!

Do you know I never saw this post from you? I would have sent you an address, I just didn't see it until now... lol.
      • Re: too late!

LOL...no problem. I figured you were busy with wedding plans. I know you're not on here much anymore anyway.

        Congrats again!
  • I am actually trying to get back into the swing of things. This is a very therapeautic thing for me. I get to juse delve into my journal and explode everything I don't want to explode on someone else, then I can browse the communities I'm a member of. It's truly something I need to MAKE time for. It's just hard as a teacher. Everyone tells you that it's a time consuming job, but I had no idea until now. I get up at 5am. I'm at work by 6:15 or 6:30. I work all day and get home between 5 and 6 pm. Then I grade papers, write lesson plans, call parents, etc. until 9 pm on many nights. I'm truly exhausted. But, I'm positive my new attitude is going to help me get more work done during the day so I don't need to bring as much home.
